The cottage is now closed for the season

Yep... the parents went up and left me in charge of the cats. Cats don't like this for some reason. Meh, they'll get over it.

I spent the day plotting and planning as usual. The cats? who knows? They likely did the same but are waiting for their moment of opportunity. So, I guess we're not all that different. Could be good, could be bad... I dunno!

Parents said they had Turkey for dinner at a friend's place - to which I replied, "anyone I know?"...

Better they had the bird THERE and not here. Could've been messy. Anyway, Mum's off to write her paper and I'm going to find something else to take apart, spindle, mutilate - the usual.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone! (At least I'm safe now!)

The week's not over yet but...

It's been a busy one! Mum said that this is the last weekend at the cottage for the season. Drat! I really like going up there. I'm not sure what this 'season' business is all about, really. I guess I'm about to find out.

My kitty sisters know something's up. Their coats seem heavier and they're less bouncy. And it gets so dark so fast! Its dark in the morning too while my parents are getting ready to go to wherever it is they disappear to during the day. But I still sing my guts out regardless... I guess I'm just a rebel at heart!

I bet the kitties know what's going on with the darkness and the like. I'll bet they know and they're just not telling! Typical cats - always keeping others out of the loop.

Speaking of which I surprised the daylights out of Seshat yesterday. I was sitting on the back of Mum' desk chair - I think she was at class - and Seshat tried to jump up on the little pedestal behind her chair...heh! (I was too, but I wasn't gonna let her know that...) Was she surprised! Ha! Being kept out of the loop can work both ways. Don't I know it?

But try telling that to cats - here's a hint - you can't! You can't tell those furballs anything. Heck, they won't even buy it if it comes from another cat. And they call ME stubborn - JUST because I like to chew stuff and don't know the meaning of 'no' - nor can I spell it - I'm stubborn! Well, la-de-da!

At least dogs are gullible - you can tell them anything and they'll just go "A-yup! sure! Now throw me the darn ball, will ya".

Too funny.

I'll never get furkids - they just don't make any darned sense.

I've learned to wolf-whistle....

Ok, neither Mum nor Dad taught me this but apparently I'd pretty darned good at it. Loud 'n' proud, I say! I have no idea where I learned this - I mean, it' s not like I hang out around construction sites. :-)

Freaked out Mum when she was getting ready for work - she was walking down the hall just adjusting her blazer when I let one rip. (I think it boosted her ego a tad).

Anyway, learning new sounds and hearing new voices is pretty darned cool if you asked me. I had a great time last Saturday listening to the guests chatting at our potluck. I was so lucky though I got to stay with the girls while the 'menfolk' sat on the deck and grilled... Good thing chicken wasn't on the menu, though!

Yay! I'm going to the cottage today!

With only two weeks left to hit the cottage - dang, I'm gonna miss it over the winter - I hope to up tonight with Dad. Mum's hitching a ride with some friends after work.

I love it up there. Lots of trees, other furry and feathery friends to meet and talk to. People are friendly up there as well and I think the parents really like it as it's a great place to de-stress - whatever THAT is.

The only stress I have is deciding upon what I'm gonna chew on next. I have a pretty easy life, let me tell ya! Well, I guess I do have some stress - I get pretty antsy waiting for Mum and Dad to come home so they can take me out of my cage and make much of me - cuz I'm a suck. Well that's what they say, anyway.

I dunno if I'm a suck or not - I just love the attention and try to be affectionate and kissy-kissy back - cuz humans love that stuff!
